Evaluation of elcomUkraine 2008 and EIA 2008
(April 15-18, 2008 - KievExpoPlaza, Kiev)
- Held in all three halls of the KievExpoPlaza from 15 to 18 April 2008, elcomUkraine 2008 and EIA Electronics and Industrial Automation 2008 once more confirmed their status as Eastern Europe’s landmark showcase for power and electrical engineering, energy efficiency and industrial automation. Furthermore, elcomUkraine is the one and onlyufi-approved event of its kind in Ukraine.
All Ukrainian and international leaders were at the start at this 12th edition, altogether 442 enterprises (+8.0%) from 13 countries, on a net exhibition area of 10,576.75 sqm (+14.9%). 383 exhibitors registered for elcomUkraine 2008, 59 for EIA 2008.
Official national pavilions have been organized by Germany (with 23 exhibitors), by Turkey (with 37 companies) and by the Czech Republic (with 16 exhibitors).
The Czech Republic was presented as Partner Country 2008 of elcomUkraine. A premiere for Ukraine’s exhibition practice, the aim of this initiative was to promote the develoment of trade and economic relations in power engineering and electrical engineering between the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
Germany has been announced as the Partner Country 2009.
- A total of 14.423 trade visitors from Ukraine and all over Eastern Europe (+5.5%) came to discuss business with all the leaders of the market. They have been divided on the 4 exhibition days as detailed below:

Valerii Pekar, President, Euroindex Ltd - The conference programme which ran alongside the exhibition included 33 seminars, 4 conferences, round-table discussions and the special competition “Innovations 2008”.
- New services had also been introduced for the professional visitors: The Career Workshop opening up new opportunities for career development; The Business Meetings Zone providing a convenient environment for B2B meetings at the trade show.
- The most important objectives for the exhibitors were observation of the market (94%), followed by sales (88%) and public relations / maintaining contacts (88%). 47% of the exhibitors also concentrated on the search for an agent, while 6% focused on other aims.
A total of 63% of the exhibitors fully achieved their main target, observation of the market, and 38% partially. Sales has been achieved fully by 33% and partially by 47%. Public Relations has been achieved fully by 67% and partially by 20%. The search for an agent has been achieved fully by 25% and partially by 63%. And other aims, pre-specified by each exhibitor, have been achieved fully by 100%.

- A general assessment of diverse factors on elcomUkraine 2008 has been conducted. The results are shown in the graphic below. A total of 82% of the consulted exhibitors rated the fair as very good and good.
- elcomUkraine 2009 (6-9 April 2009)
Next year’s elcomUkraine has been scheduled for 6 to 9 April 2009, and all official pavilions and major exhibitors have already reserved for this 13th Power and Electrical Engineering, Energy Efficiency and Industrial Automation Trade Fair.
65% of the exhibitors confirmed already during the last day of the show that they would definitely participate again in elcomUkraine 2009, 35% said that they will seriously consider participating.
