Welcoming address by the organizers: Valerii Pekar, President of Euroindex and Martin März, Managing Director of fairtrade

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

it gives us great pleasure to cordially welcome all honorable guests, exhibitors and visitors on behalf of the entire organizing team of Euroindex and fairtrade. Welcome to the 17th elcomUkraine and the 8th EIA: Electronics and Industrial Automation.

elcomUkraine and EIA 2013 take place on the background of steadily growing Ukrainian imports and exports of power and electro-technology, and an increase in demand for building and industrial automation equipment and solutions.

According to ZVEI – the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, Ukrainian imports of electro-technology rose by 23.4% in 2011, to Euro 5.644 billion, after Euro 4.571 billion in 2010 and Euro 2.849 billion in 2009. China, Russia, Germany, Hungary and Poland are the major supplier countries.

Ukrainian producers have increased their exports of electro-technology by 36.8% (!) in 2011, to Euro 4.495 billion, compared to Euro 3.284 billion in 2010 and Euro 1.740 billion in 2009, Russia, Hungary, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic being the major export destinations.

Ukraine is continuing its way up. Experts forecast a GDP-growth rate of 2.9% for 2013. Major projects are on the way in Ukraine and elcomUkraine and EIA 2013 exhibitors profit from a massive investment program, including several billion US $ for the expansion of the electricity industry and major industrial and infrastructural projects.

Exhibitors of elcomUkraine and EIA since many years use to be extremely satisfied with the number and the quality of the trade visitors and the event’s overall organization. More than 12,000 trade visitors are again expected to discuss business in 2013, after 12,042 trade visitors in 2012.

At elcom Ukraine and EIA 2013, 401 exhibitors (+10.1% compared to 2012) from 17 countries present their latest technologies and solutions. All majors again participate and group pavilions from China, Germany and Turkey show a strong presence.

Germany will again leave a heavy footprint with an important presentation. The official German participation is presented by the German Ministry of Economics and Technology in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) and supported by ZVEI - the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association.

Exhibitors present their innovations in the fields of modern, efficient and sustainable infrastructure in power transmission and distribution, building and industrial automation, electro-technology and lighting technology.

elcomUkraine and EIA 2013 will once again deliver as an excellent platform for decision-makers from all sectors of the Central and Eastern European industry, public institutions and the services industry to get in contact with cutting-edge solutions first, and to meet new suppliers. A major event bringing the two sides of supply and demand together for business.

An integral part of elcomUkraine and EIA also is its action-packed program of professional conferences, presentations and seminars.

The organizers like to thank all of you for your kind support: the official supporting authorities in Ukraine, the international organizations, exhibitors and visitors from all over Europe, and last but not least our media partners.

We wish all exhibitors and visitors excellent business very interesting and fruitful meetings.

Sincerely yours,

Valerii Pekar - President of Euroindex Ltd.
